Our group is part of a collaboration between Universidad Mayor and Montclair State University (US) that received a grant to encourage the exchange of undergraduate students between United States, Caribbean and Latin America. The grant of US$ 25,000 is part of the “100,000 Strong in the Americas Initiative” that was launched earlier this year by President Obama and is supported by Partners of America, the Department of State and NAFSA (Association of International Educators), to help educational institutions in the United States and across the Americas develop and strengthen their programs that offer students expanded study abroad opportunities.

The program will introduce students from both universities to current biotechnology research and techniques in the United States and Chile. Also, they will receive a cultural insertion into local culture in both countries.
